Consider/Discuss Agriculture Enhancement Grant Greenhouse Bid |

Background Information: At the January 14, 2011 meeting, the Board approved the recommendation to reject the greenhouse bid received from Universal Contractors, LLC due to the bid exceeding budget estimates by approximately $30,000, review specifications, and start the bidding process over. We have, in addition to advertising, solicited bids from Atlas Greenhouse Systems, Inc., Stuppy Greenhouse, and Universal Contractors, LLC for the purchase and construction of a greenhouse for the Obion County Central Agriculture Enhancement Grant. Bids are not due until 11:00 a.m., February 4, 2011; therefore, information on the bids will be presented the night of the Board meeting. For your information, the bidding document and minimum specifications are attached. The purchase of the greenhouse was specifically requested during the budget planning process for the current fiscal year and is included in the FY11 budget as approved by the Board.
Staff Recommendation: I will make a recommendation at the Board meeting after the bids are received, analyzed, and presented to the Board. |
